Bushes On Sticks

These bushes on sticks were spotted just outside Amsterdam town centre. I suspect that the bushes are mounted on sticks so as to raise them above the shadows caused by other nearby objects so that their leaves can recieve light. Some of these bushes have no leaves and are instead just sticks on sticks.
